My gini account
Is the gini app free?

Yes! gini is absolutely free. Free to download and free to use.
Enjoy 🙂

I forgot which email I used to create my gini account. What should I do?

To safeguard our users’ privacy, we can’t help recover your email address if you’ve forgotten which one you use for your gini account. We did send you a welcome email when you first signed up, so try searching for that.

The other option is to create a new gini account instead.

(And we get it, login details are really hard to remember. We’d recommend using a secure password manager to do the remembering for you and make life easier!)

I forgot my password. What should I do?
  1. Don’t panic
  2. On your login page, tap Forgot password
  3. Enter your email address (the one you used to register for the app)
  4. Check your inbox for the gini Password Recovery email (or your spam folder if it’s not in your inbox)
  5. Click the link in the email, which will take you back to the app
  6. Create a shiny new password
  7. Store your new password somewhere safe, so you can find it if you forget again 😉
Why didn't I receive a password recovery email?

The email may be in your spam folder, but if it isn’t there, it might be because you’re checking the wrong email.

If you’re sure you’re checking the right email (same as your gini account email) and still can’t find the password recovery email, let us know at info@gini.co and we’ll see how we can help.

I forgot my 6-digit passcode. What should I do?
  1. Don’t panic
  2. On your passcode screen, tap Log out (it’s there at the bottom of the screen)
  3. Log in with your email and password again
  4. Set a new 6-digit passcode
  5. Store it somewhere safe, so you can find it if you forget again 😉
How do I set up biometric authentication?

If you prefer to log in with your face or your fingerprint, simply:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Tap General
  3. Then Authentication
  4. Turn on Face/Touch ID

Sorted.

I signed up, but don’t want to link my bank account. Can I deactivate my gini account?

Sure, no problem. Email us at info@gini.co (using the email address you signed up with) and we’ll help you deactivate your account. You’ll get a notification email when it’s done.

(Note: If you’re worried about security, we hear you. It’s good to be extra careful when it comes to your data. Rest assured, gini is safe. Here’s how we keep your data secure.)

How do I deactivate my gini account?

Aw, we’re sad to see you go. But we wish you all the best with your money management in the future! To deactivate your account:

  1. Log in to the gini app
  2. Go to Settings (the gear in the top right corner)
  3. Tap General
  4. Scroll down to Delete gini, and tap Deactivate account
  5. When you tap Confirm, all your data will be deleted from gini

And hey, we can still be friends! If ever you need us, you know where to find us.

How do I reactivate my gini account?

Welcome back!

To reactivate your gini account:

  1. Download the app
  2. Tap Log in
  3. Then Forgot Password? (top right corner)
  4. Enter your email (the same address you used for the app before)
  5. Go to your inbox and find our password recovery email
  6. Click the link to reset your password and reactivate your account

Enjoy gini 🙂

Linking my bank accounts
The 'Add a Bank' page is blank. What should I do?

If this is the first time you’re linking a bank account to gini, the page may take up to 5 minutes to load.

Make sure you have a stable internet connection, because a weak connection may interrupt the loading process.

If the page takes too long to load, try closing and re-opening the app.

If it still doesn’t load after re-opening, contact us at info@gini.co and we’ll see how we can help.

My bank doesn't show up on gini's list. What should I do?

gini can link to all the banks and wallets in this list. If yours isn’t on this list, it means, unfortunately, we don’t support that particular bank.

My credit card doesn't have a bank account. Can I still link it to gini?

Why yes you can! Adding a credit card is as simple as adding a bank account. You can either:

  1. Go to the Home page
  2. Tap the +
  3. Select Bank Account
  4. Find the bank your credit card belongs to
  5. Follow the instructions to link your card to the app

or

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Select Bank Accounts
  3. Tap Add New Bank
  4. Find the bank your credit card belongs to
  5. Follow the instructions to link your card to the app

Here’s the list of banks gini supports.

My wife and I share a joint account. Can we both link our gini apps to the same account?

Yes, you can link your joint bank account to two different gini accounts. However, your bank may restrict the number of people logged into the bank account at the same time on different devices, so your gini apps may not be able to update transactions simultaneously.

My bank account link is still pending. What should I do?

Linking your bank account can take up to 15 minutes, so make sure you keep the app open until it’s done.

If it takes longer than 15 minutes, your bank may be momentarily unavailable, so you could try again later.

If it still doesn’t work, email us at info@gini.co and we’ll see how we can help.

Why can't I see any transactions on the bank account I linked?

If this is the first bank account you’ve linked to gini, it may take up to 15 minutes to load your transactions. So keep the app open until it’s done.

Sometimes, a weak network connection can interrupt the process, so make sure your wifi is stable.

If the page takes too long to load, try closing and re-opening the app.

My bank accounts are not updating on gini. What should I do?

gini does an auto-refresh every day after midnight for most Hong Kong bank accounts, so you can wake up to updated transactions in the morning.

To refresh your accounts during the day, simply:

  1. Go to the Home page
  2. Pull down the app’s screen
  3. Wait until the refresh bar has stopped running across the top

Done!

If the app still doesn’t refresh, your bank may not allow it to do so until you re-authenticate your account. To do this:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Select Bank Accounts (where you can also see when it was last refreshed)
  3. Choose your bank
  4. Tap Edit Preferences
  5. Then Update Credentials
  6. Follow the instructions to re-authenticate your bank account
How do I refresh my transactions on gini?

gini usually refreshes your transactions every night while you sleep, but some banks don’t allow automatic updates, so you may have to do it manually. You can see when your bank account was last updated by looking at your Bank Accounts under Settings.

To update your transactions, simply:

  1. Go to the Home page
  2. Pull down the app’s screen
  3. Wait until the refresh bar has stopped running across the top

Done!

If the app still doesn’t refresh, you may need to re-authenticate your bank account:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Select Bank Accounts
  3. Choose your bank
  4. Tap Edit Preferences
  5. Then Update Credentials
  6. Follow the instructions to re-authenticate your bank account
Why does my bank require re-authentication every time gini refreshes?

gini does an auto-refresh every day after midnight for most Hong Kong bank accounts, so you can wake up to updated transactions in the morning.

However, some banks that use one-time login passcodes will require you to re-authenticate your bank account every time you want your transactions updated on gini.

To re-authenticate your bank account:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Select Bank Accounts
  3. Choose your bank
  4. Tap Edit Preferences
  5. Then Update Credentials
  6. Follow the instructions to re-authenticate your bank account
I don't want gini to show some of my accounts. How do I hide them?

To hide an account, simply:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Tap Bank Accounts
  3. Select the bank your account belongs to
  4. Tap Edit Preferences
  5. Turn off the Show button

That’s it! gini will no longer show the transactions from that account or include them in your calculations.

I don't want my matured time deposit to show on gini. How do I hide it?

To hide your matured time deposit, simply:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Tap Bank Accounts
  3. Select the bank your time deposit belongs to
  4. Tap Edit Preferences
  5. Turn off the Show button

That’s it! gini will no longer include the matured time deposit in your calculations.

You may prefer to list the time deposit as an internal transfer instead. To do that, simply:

  1. Go to the Feed page
  2. Tap the time deposit transaction
  3. Go to the category list and choose Internal Transfer

Done!

How do I unlink a bank account?

You can hide, disable or delete a bank account on gini anytime.

  • If you hide a bank account, gini will ignore the transactions from that bank account and exclude them from your calculations.
  • If you disable a bank account, gini will no longer update transactions from that account, but your transaction history will still be saved.
  • If you delete a bank account, gini will delete your transactions from that account completely. Note: If you choose to relink this account in future, gini will only be able to retrieve a maximum of 2 months’ transaction history.

To remove a linked bank account, simply:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Tap Bank Accounts
  3. Select the bank account you’d like to remove
  4. Tap Edit Preferences
  5. Then switch the Show button off to hide your account, or tap Disable or Delete (Name of bank)

Done!

My bank disconnected itself. What should I do?

If gini sends you a notification saying your bank account has been disconnected, tap on the notification and follow instructions to reconnect your account.

Or, you can go to Settings, then Bank Accounts, and check the status of your account. If it says Disconnected or Try again, simply tap on your bank account and follow the instructions to reconnect it.

gini is not showing all the accounts under my bank. What should I do?
  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Tap Bank Accounts
  3. Select the bank your missing account(s) belong to
  4. Tap Edit Preferences
  5. Make sure the Show button is on

Note: gini’s default setting does not show bank accounts with a balance of zero.

If your account still doesn’t show, email us at info@gini.co and tell us:

  • The email address you use for your gini app
  • The name of the bank your missing account belongs to
  • The nature of your account (savings, checking, credit, debit, etc)
  • The name of the account (premium, visa, master, etc)
  • Any useful information that will help us detect and fetch the missing account for you

(Do NOT tell us your account number. That’s for your eyes only.)

Why is my Total Balance on gini different to my bank balance?

The Total Balance shown at the top of gini’s home page is calculated as the [Total income of all linked bank accounts] – [Total up-to-date expenses of all linked bank accounts]. Note that gini includes your real-time credit card expenses in its calculations to give you a more accurate picture of how much you’ve spent.

Therefore, your Total Balance on gini, which includes real-time credit card expenses, is likely to be less than your bank balance, which does not show your credit card expenses immediately.

How far back does my transaction history go with gini?

When you first link your bank account, gini will show your transactions going as far back as your bank allows, which is usually 2 months. Some banks show transactions up to 6 months back, some more, some less.

The good news is, you’ll always be able to see your transaction history starting from 2 months before you got gini, no matter how long you use the app for.

I have 2 sets of login details for the same bank. Can I add both accounts to gini?

To ensure maximum security, gini only allows one set of login details for each bank account.

Manual mode
How do I manage my account manually?

After creating your gini account, you can choose to manage your accounts manually or automatically.

Manually: Add transactions yourself and keep track of your cash wallet and bank accounts your way.

Automatically: Link your account to gini, and all your transactions will be recorded and tracked for you.

You can go all-manual, all-automatic, or have a mixture of both. It’s totally up to you!

What's the difference between a Cash Wallet and a Manual Bank Account?

Cash Wallet: Track your cash by adding transactions manually. First, put in the amount of cash you have to start with, then add your expenses as you go.

You won’t see a total cash balance on gini though, because it’s unlikely that the transactions you record on gini will match the amount of cash in your wallet down to the last cent, and we don’t want to cause confusion!

Note: it’s not possible to have a negative cash balance, so remember to add income transactions whenever you receive or withdraw cash. You can also only have one Cash Wallet.

Manual Bank Account: Add transactions manually, and assign them to the relevant bank account as you go. This account is not linked to your real account, so you’ll need to input your balance yourself. The Total Balance you see at the top of your screen is the sum of all your manual account balances.

With both options, you’ll still have access to our reports and Smart Saving features.

I set up a manual account. Can I change it to automatic?

Yes! First, delete the manual account then link the relevant account on the Bank Accounts page. Don’t worry, you won’t lose all the transactions you recorded. We usually import at least 2 months of historical data when linking a bank account.

To delete your manual account:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Select Bank Accounts
  3. Tap on Manually and choose the relevant one
  4. Tap Edit preferences
  5. Select Delete

To link a new bank account:

  1. Tap on the + button
  2. Choose Automatically
  3. Tap Bank Accounts and choose the relevant one
  4. Make sure you have your bank login details at hand
  5. Follow the steps to link your bank account
Why can’t I update the balance of my account?

You can, if it’s a manual account!

To check whether or not your account is manual:

  1. Go to the Accounts tab
  2. Scroll to the header Manual Accounts
  3. Check if the account is listed there

If it’s not, it means your account is an automatically linked one. You can’t change the balance because it syncs with your real bank account. The balance will be updated when the app refreshes overnight or when you refresh the bank in the Bank Accounts page.

My bank is not shown on the list. Can I create my own?

No, I’m afraid it’s not possible to create your own bank on gini.

But you can name your manual bank accounts whatever you like!

My manual account balance doesn’t change when I add new transactions. Why not?

To provide the full DIY experience many users prefer, the balances of your manual accounts are not automated by gini.

But we do recommend you update your balance at least once a month!

Why can’t I choose x currency for a cash expense?

To add a cash expense, you need an income transaction in the same currency first. If all your income transactions are in HKD, your expenses have to be in HKD too.

If you want to add a USD expense, you’ll need an income transaction in USD first.

HSBC/ Hang Seng (HK)

At the moment, gini only supports dual-password authentication for HSBC and Hang Seng bank accounts. If you haven’t set that up, you can do it with your HSBC or Hang Seng online banking.

  1. Set up your dual password (here’s a guide from HSBC):

For information on HSBC or Hang Seng’s dual password settings, please visit their websites.

  1. Once you’ve set up your dual password with your bank, open the gini app and fill in your second password.

3. After that, gini will be able to link to your HSBC or Hang Seng account without any issues.

Standard Chartered

If you’re having trouble linking your Standard Chartered account to gini, it’s likely due to their new Mobile Key service which they use for mobile and internet banking.

To link your Standard Chartered account to gini:

  1. Set up your Standard Chartered Mobile Security Key
  2. Open your gini app and add your Standard Chartered account
  3. After about 10 to 20 seconds, your Standard Chartered mobile app will send you a Login Push Notification. Open it and you will see this pop up:

  1. Tap Approve, and your bank account will start linking to gini

Note: There’s only a very short time window to tap Approve, so be quick!

Transactions
Can I delete a transaction?

No. But, you can hide transactions instead. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Home page
  2. Tap the transaction you want to hide
  3. Go to More Options
  4. Tap Ignore transaction

An ignored transaction won’t be included in your calculations.

To control the visibility of ignored transactions:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Tap Display & Preferences
  3. Turn on Ignored Transactions to see them on your records in grey
  4. Turn off Ignored Transactions to not see them at all

Whether it’s visible or not, an ignored transaction won’t be included in your calculations.

You can unhide transactions anytime. Simply:

  1. Turn on Ignored Transactions
  2. Go back to your Home page
  3. Tap on the grey ignored transaction
  4. Go to More Options
  5. Tap Include Transaction

gini will recalculate everything to include the transaction.

There are duplicate transactions. What should I do?

If there are duplicate transactions showing on your gini app and your bank statement, it could be a sign of fraud. Notify your bank immediately.

If the duplicates show up on gini but not your bank statement, it might be a temporary glitch. It’s not possible to delete a transaction on your gini app, but you can hide the transaction instead. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Home page
  2. Tap the transaction you want to hide
  3. Go to More Options
  4. Tap Ignore transaction

An ignored transaction won’t be included in your calculations.

To control the visibility of ignored transactions:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear icon at the top right corner)
  2. Tap Display & Preferences
  3. Turn on Ignored Transactions to see them on your records in grey
  4. Turn off Ignored Transactions to not see them at all

Whether it’s visible or not, an ignored transaction won’t be included in your calculations.

You can unhide transactions anytime. Simply:

  1. Turn on Ignored Transactions
  2. Go back to your Home page
  3. Tap on the grey ignored transaction
  4. Go to More Options
  5. Tap Include Transaction

gini will recalculate everything to include the transaction.

Why are the transactions on gini different to my bank statements?

gini pulls the information from your bank account in read-only mode, and never changes details like transaction amount, time, date, etc. If a transaction takes 2 to 3 working days to show on your bank account, it will be the same for gini, too.

However, if the information on gini is totally different from your bank statement, or if there are missing transactions on gini, please contact us at info@gini.co and tell us:

  • The email address you use for your gini app
  • The name of the bank account/credit card that your transaction belongs to (e.g. HSBC savings, etc)
  • The expected information that should appear on gini (transaction date, balance amount, transaction amount, income/expense and currency)
  • Any useful information that will help us detect and fetch the missing transactions for you

We will look into it for you. (Note: do NOT tell us your bank account number. That’s for your eyes only.)

Can I select multiple transactions to make changes in bulk?

Unfortunately, that’s not possible on gini at the moment.

Categories
How do I create a new category?

It’s not possible to create your own categories on gini at the moment, but you can choose from any of these pre-set categories when organising your transactions:

  1. Transport
  2. Eating Out
  3. Groceries
  4. Shopping/Leisure
  5. Income
  6. Housing
  7. Health and Beauty
  8. Payments
  9. Utilities
  10. Education
  11. Vacation
  12. Investments
  13. Internal Transfer
  14. Cash Withdrawal
  15. Other
The name of the merchant is wrong. Can I change it?

Yes you can! To change the name of the merchant, simply:

  1. Go to the Feed page
  2. Tap the transaction you want to change
  3. Tap Select Merchant
  4. Type the name of the merchant to find it from our database
  5. If you can’t find it, tap Add Your Own instead
I made an internal transfer but it is showing as an expense. What do I do?

gini detects an Internal Transfer when you have a pair of transactions (income and expense) on similar dates.

But sometimes one half of the pair is delayed, like if your bank takes a few days to register a credit card transaction. When that happens, the expense may show up on gini before its income equivalent is registered by your bank. So gini labels it as an Expense prematurely.

When the other half of the pair comes in, gini will correct the original Expense automatically and label both transactions as Internal Transfers instead.

If you don’t want to wait for that to happen, you can change the Expense to an Internal Transfer manually. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Feed page
  2. Tap the transaction you want to change
  3. Go to the category list
  4. Select Internal Transfer

Done!

Does gini remember my category changes?

Unfortunately, gini can’t apply category changes according to your preference, so you have to do them manually for now. We apologise for the inconvenience!

Simple Saving feature
Why is my income not showing?

gini detects your Main Income by looking for a payment from one merchant coming in at regular intervals in similar amounts. If the merchant, date or amount changes significantly, gini may not be able to detect your Main Income automatically.

You can always select your Main Income manually by going to the Save page, tapping Income, then Main, then choosing the transaction you want as your Main Income.

If you are new to gini and your Main Income isn’t showing:

  • Make sure your payroll bank account is linked to gini
  • Scroll through your transaction feed to find your main income transaction, and make sure it’s categorised as Income
  • Check if the transaction is registered to a merchant. If not, tap on the transaction and choose Select Merchant, then fill in your employer’s name

Note: your Main Income needs to come from the same merchant to be automatically detected. If it comes from different merchants, you’ll need to select your Main Income manually instead.

If you’ve been using gini for a while, and your Main Income is suddenly not detected, it may be because:

  • You changed jobs, and your income is coming from a new merchant. All you need to do is select the income from your new employer as your Main Income manually, and gini will remember it going forward.
  • Your salary changed significantly this month. Again, once you’ve selected your Main Income manually, gini will recalculate your Saving Goal and OK to Spend for you.

If your income is irregular, you’ll need to select your Main Income manually for gini to calculate your Saving Goal and OK to Spend.

A recurring expense is missing. What should I do?

If you make a regular payment to a merchant, gini will recognise it as a Recurring Expense. All your recurring expenses are shown on the Reports page, so you know what’s coming and can budget for it.

However, if the amount, date or merchant changes significantly, gini will no longer list it as a Recurring Expense. For example, if you usually pay your phone bill on the 5th of every month, but this month you pay it on the 20th, gini won’t list your phone bill as a Recurring Expense.

You can’t add your own recurring expenses on gini manually, but once your payments become regular again, gini will detect them for you.

Can I add more than one income?

While you can only have one Main Income, you CAN have multiple Extra Incomes (for all those side hustles of yours).

Go to the Save page, tap Income, then Extra. Choose the income you’d like to add, then tap Save, and gini will factor it into the calculations.

Note: the Saving Goal time period is based on the frequency of your Main Income only, as extra incomes are not considered recurring.

Here’s more about how to use our Simple Saving feature.

Can I change my Saving Goal after setting it?

Yes, you can!

Anytime you want to adjust your Saving Goal, simply go to the Save page, tap on your Saving Goal and slide it to your desired amount. gini will recalculate your OK to Spend automatically (which may take a minute or two).

My budget period is longer than one month. What went wrong?

The budget period starts on the day your Main Income arrives and lasts until your next paycheck comes in.

Currently, gini only recognises your Main Income if it comes in monthly. So, if you get paid more often or less often than that, gini may not detect your next paycheck, and the budget period will run on.

To reset your budget period, go to the Save page, tap Income, then Main, then select the transaction you want as your Main Income.

Can I manually change my Main Income?

Yes you can!

  1. Go to the Save page
  2. Tap Income
  3. Then Main
  4. Then select the transaction you want as your Main Income

Simple!

Alternatively, you can:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Tap General
  3. Under Finance, tap Change Main Income
  4. Then select the transaction you want as your Main Income

Done!

gini doesn't support my payroll bank. Can I still use the Save page?

Yes, you can, as long as you’ve linked one bank or credit card account, even if it’s not your payroll account.

All you need to do is create a Cash Income:

  • Tap +
  • Then Cash Transaction
  • Type in the amount and tap Income, then Next and Confirm to register the Cash Income

Then, go to the Save page, tap Income, then Main, then choose the cash income you created as your Main Income. gini will use this to calculate your Saving Goal and Ok to Spend.

Cash feature
Can I add a Cash Expense without attaching it to a Cash Withdrawal?

Yes you can!

First, you need to create a Cash Income:

  • Tap +
  • Then Cash Transaction
  • Type in the amount and tap Income, then Next and Confirm to register the Cash Income first

Now, you can record your Cash Expense:

  • Tap +
  • Then Cash Transaction
  • Type in the amount and tap Expense, then Next
  • Select the Cash Income you just created as the source, then tap Confirm

Done!

Why does gini say I have more cash than I actually have in my wallet?

Every time you get cash out, gini records an ATM Withdrawal as an expense.

However, you can also break down your ATM Withdrawal amounts into different cash expenses to track your spending.

To allow for that, gini records your Available Cash as the sum of your ATM Withdrawals that you haven’t already allocated to individual cash expenses.  So, the amount of Available Cash might be higher than the actual cash in your wallet if you’ve spent cash that you haven’t recorded on gini.

If you’re not someone who tracks every cash expense, feel free to ignore the Available Cash amount on gini.

When splitting a bill with friends, can I attach a Cash Income to this expense?

It’s not possible to attach a Cash Income to a particular expense on gini.

Other features
I got a refund, but the expense is still showing on my Reports page

gini doesn’t recognise refunds, but you can categorise the pair of transactions as an Internal Transfer instead, which will exclude them from your Reports page.

To register a transaction as an Internal Transfer, simply:

  1. Go to the Feed page
  2. Tap the transaction you want to change
  3. Go to the category list
  4. Select Internal Transfer

Now the expense and refund will cancel each other out as expected.

Can I export all my transaction data from the gini app?

Yes you can!

With gini’s Smart Sheet, you can export all your transaction data to a Google Sheet. All you need is a gmail account.

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at top right corner)
  2. Tap Power-ups
  3. Go to Smart Sheet and tap Learn More
  4. Follow the instructions to export your data to a Google Sheet

Here’s more about how to manage your finances with the useful features on Smart Sheet.

How do I stop the WhatsApp notifications?

To disable your WhatsApp notifications:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Tap General

Security
Is the gini app secure?

gini is as secure as your banking app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we keep your data secure.

First of all, we never ask you for your name or ID number.

Secondly, gini operates on a read-only basis. That means no one can make or change bank transactions through the gini app – not even you.

Thirdly, gini does not hold any of your bank credentials. All credentials are stored by our partner Salt Edge.

Who is Salt Edge?

Salt Edge specialises in the storage of banking information for financial institutions, including ING and Société Générale. It is a PCI-DSS and ISO 27001 compliant and UK FCA Certified 3rd party custodian.

Will all my information be deleted if I deactivate my gini account?

To deactivate your account:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear at the top right corner)
  2. Tap General
  3. Under Delete gini, select Deactivate Account

Once your account has been deactivated, all your financial information will be deleted.

We don’t delete your email address in case you want to reactivate your account in future, and to prevent others from using the same email address. We won’t send you emails unless you’ve given us permission.

If you want us to delete all your information, including your email address, please contact us at info@gini.co.

I've been receiving login notification emails from my bank at night. Is that gini?

Yes, it is!

Once you’ve linked your bank account, gini will refresh your transactions automatically overnight, so you get an updated overview of your finances every morning. Your bank may notify you every time your data is refreshed.

Note: Banks that require two-factor authentication with a one-time passcode for every log in don’t let gini refresh your transactions automatically, so you’ll be prompted to re-authenticate your bank account each time instead.

At gini, we take the security of your information very seriously. gini operates in read-only mode, which means no one can make or change bank transactions through gini – not even you.

gini is as secure as your banking app. We are powered by Salt Edge, the global trusted guardian of banking data used by the likes of ING, Soc Gen, and BBVA, and licensed by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority.

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us at info@gini.co and we’d be happy to help!
